Third yearly meeting of the Senior Officials

The objective was to exchange views on the progress made, identify complementarity with other ongoing initiatives in the EU-CELAC context and to discuss and agree the necessary next steps in view of shaping future development of the Joint Initiative.
The third yearly meeting of the Senior Officials in charge of the Joint Initiative for Research and Innovation (JIRI) was convened in Brussels on 16 and 17 April 2013. The meeting was co-chaired by Chile for CELAC countries and the European Commission for the EU.
The meeting gathered senior representatives of EU-CELAC countries to follow-up the EU-CELAC Summit in Santiago de Chile. The objective was to exchange views on the progress made, identify complementarity with other ongoing initiatives in the EU-CELAC context and to discuss and agree the necessary next steps in view of shaping future development of the Joint Initiative.
